Mahabalipuram: The Goddess & her cherubs

Here is the goddess inside the temple, surrounded by her Indian looking cherubs. I have no clue what the person crouching in the corner is doing, looks like a dance pose to me.

Hello Karen:
What amazing detail is still visible here. We have no idea how old this may be but it seems to have withstood the test of time remarkably well. As you say, the crouched figure seems to be holding a dance pose. What a lovely sculptural piece.

I'm thinking worshipping the goddess?

I hope the dance was pleasing to the goddess. :)

I enlarged the photo and I can't tell what she's doing either. :)

These stylized poses are endlessly fascinating and so graceful.
